Virtual Private Networking

Igaware Network Appliances support open standards for ensuring private, secure communications over Internet Protocol (IP) networks and can communicate with any remote VPN client or device that supports these standards. Igaware supports the following VPN types:

• PPTP
  Incoming PPTP VPN connections can be made using the client built into MS Windows.
• L2TP
  Incoming L2TP VPN connections can be made using the client built into MS Windows.
• IPSec
  Igaware IPSec uses all modern protocols including AES. Authentication is by certificates or shared secrets. Additional features include:
  • Compression
    For text files enabling link compression can half the connection traffic.
  • Advanced Options
    These include options to enable Perfect Forward Secrecy ( PFS) and Aggressive Mode for Shared Secret.
• SSL
  Allows SSL VPN connections to be created. There is a free Windows SSL VPN client that is a lot easier to set up and far more efficient than the default Windows L2TP/ IPSec client. The Windows client can be downloaded from http://openvpn.net/download.html. Look for a link named "Windows installer"
