Once Windows
has failed to locate your Ethernet card, you will be shown
the window at the right. Choose to Add a new device,
by clicking on that entry in the window, and then clicking
on Next.
(If, on the other hand, Windows was
able to find and install other hardware, but not
your Ethernet card, you will need to finish installing
those items, and then start over again at the beginning.)
-
Windows will
now ask you to begin searching for other hardware which
was not immediately detectable. Select Yes, and
click the Next button.
-
Windows
will now perform a second, more thorough search for additional
hardware. If Windows detects your Ethernet card this time,
it should be able to install it, as above. You may be
required to manually configure it, however (information
on how to do this should be provided by the adapter's
manufacturer).
(If, however, Windows cannot detect
your card on the second search attempt, you will need
to install your Ethernet adapter manually. Consult
the adapter's technical for information on how to do this.
