Outlook Configuration
This procedure works for all versions of Microsoft
Outlook Express as well as Outlook 98 and Outlook 2000. email configuration
for Outlook 97 is very different - click

Note: The Igaware email
Server offers POP3 and IMAP protocols for email delivery. To find
out what's best for you and how to setup IMAP click
here.
To configure Outlook with POP3 you will require the
following from your system administrator:
- email Address e.g. john@igaware.co.uk
- email Account User Name & Password
- Incoming/Outgoing Mail Server Address
Installation
1. Start Outlook. If this is the first time you are
starting Outlook, the Internet Connection Wizard may pop up immediately.
If that happens, you can skip ahead to step 4. Otherwise, make sure
the Inbox folder is highlighted as shown below.
2. Select the Tools menu and choose Accounts.
3. Make sure the Mail tab is selected, click the Add
button and choose Mail.
4. This starts a wizard - a program that will help
you set up your email. Enter the name you would like to display when
you send a message to someone. Click Next.
5. Next you will be prompted for your email address;
enter your email address in the form john@igaware.co.uk. Click
Next.
Note: Outlook Express 5 and Outlook 2000 have an option
to 'sign up' at this point. Ignore this option and continue with step
6.
6. You should select your incoming mail server as
POP3 in the drop down list. Specify the incoming (POP3) mail
server and the outgoing (SMTP) mail server. If you don't know these,
contact your system administrator. Click the Next button.
7. Select "Log on using:" and where it asks
for "POP account name:" type in your user name. In the box beside "Password:"
type your email password. Click Next.
If you are using Outlook Express 5 or Outlook 2000,
skip to step 10.
8. Select a name for your new account. This is the
name that you will use to identify this mail account. Example: John's
email. Click Next.
9. Select "Connect using my local area network." Click
Next.
10. Congratulations! You have finished setting up
your email account in Outlook Express. Click the Finish button.
